We were the launching airline for the 777, and we are now a market leader for MRO support on this aircraft type. In 2005, AFI KLM E&M and Boeing decided to set up a unique component maintenance program (CSP) for the 777. By combining the expertise of a world-leading MRO with that of the manufacturer, the CSP is a comprehensive component support program: about 300 base parts are covered and the scope can be extended to over 500 part numbers, depending on our customer's needs.
The CSP now covers more than 160 aircraft with pools based in Paris and Singapore.
Heavy maintenance visits for long-haul aircraft are carried out at our Orly site or, on request, in our Amsterdam facilities. In 2006, thanks to the combined expertise of our technicians on this aircraft type we carried out no fewer than 32 C-Checks.
With about 150 engines in operations, AIR FRANCE KLM is the world?s biggest operator of GE90 powerplants, the group having 20% of the total number of engines in this family currently in service. As the launch airline for all the 777 versions, operating the 777-200ER since 1998, 777-300ER since 2004 and the 777 LR Freighter since 2009, we have built up an unparalleled degree of experience and know-how on this outstanding engine.
